Elaine K. Sanchez entertains, inspires, and educates audiences with keynote presentations and workshops that help people get prepared to care for family elders and cope with the stress of long-term caregiving.

Keynote Presentation:
“And for this I take Vitamins!”

Through artful storytelling Elaine proves that, regardless of our circumstances, we have the power to choose our attitude toward any person, thing, or event.  She also inspires audiences by showing how it is possible to grow mentally and spiritually – even in the worst end-of-life situations.  Content is original and delightfully irreverent

Workshop:
Boomer Boot Camp
Getting Prepared to Care for Family Elders

Based on her own experiences of caring for aging parents from a distance and becoming the primary caregiver for an elderly aunt following an accident, Elaine helps participants walk away with the tools they need to:

  • Assess their parents’ safety
  • Gather the essential personal, medical, financial, and legal information
  • Create a support network
  • Find resources to keep family elders in their homes
  • Make decisions about assisted living and skilled nursing facilities
  • Untangle the red tape around Medicare and Medicaid Insurance
  • Develop end-of-life plans

Workshop:
Survival Training for Caregivers

Participants learn to recognize and cope with the “Four Horsemen of Caregiving”: anger, guilt, depression, and grief. They develop a personal survival plan that includes practical strategies for maintaining their own physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health while caring for loved ones who can no longer care for themselves.

“Dear Elaine, You were so wonderful to work with and so kind and understanding. You showed such compassion and kindness not only to me but to everyone you came into contact with over the two days that you were here. I was truly impressed and inspired. The people who attended your presentation had high praises for you. They each felt touched and inspired by the ideas you had in helping them learn to cope with their role as caregivers, and they all related to you in ways of their own.

Elaine, you are a natural speaker for caregivers and if I can ever help you by vouching for your abilities, please just let me know.”

Elaine’s workshop “Surviving and Growing Through Caregiving” covered many key points that are facing millions of Americans today including assistance of aging spouses, parents and other dependents. Her facilitation of the discussion was very valuable for all in attendance. She is a poised and compassionate professional, with a powerful and timely message. On behalf of Coconino Community College, we recommend her heartily for other talks and classes.

Elaine Sanchez brings experience and a wonderful perspective to the difficult task of caregiving.  Her Caregiver's Survival Guide is packed with tools for lifting-up the caregiver, helping them find dignity, a new perspective, and even humor as they go about their daily tasks.  We look forward to her return to Sedona and the presentation of another workshop.

I recently attended your workshop on eldercare.  I was impressed by your ability to hold the audience's attention by speaking from the heart about your mother’s experiences.  Along with your authentic knowledge concerning human nature, your also gave extremely practical tips on how caregivers can take care of themselves.  You reinforced for me the knowledge that if I cannot nurture myself, I will not be able to practice attentive loving-kindness towards those who are sick and may be dying.
